No child should have to experience the cruel realities of living on the street. It is this belief that has driven Poverty Child to tackle child poverty in the developing world since 2013, specifically in countries that have witnessed rapid expansion in urban slums, such as in the Philippines, Indonesia, and India.
Our vision is to realise a world where no child finds themselves in poverty or needs protection from it. It is the charity's goal to positively impact the lives of 1 million children over the next 10 years so that they are not tied to the life they were born into, but instead have the opportunity to create a better future for themselves. To help us achieve this goal we are in need of a Fashion Photographer to join the team on a voluntary basis.
You will be responsible for photographing our upcoming Charity Fashion Show in Leeds on Saturday 8 June 2019. Liaising with the Event Lead, you will document the event using your photography skills creating a visual narrative that can be used for further promotion on social media. The photographs you produce may also be used by us to promote similar events in the future. As such, you will provide us with a library of photographs taken of the event.
You are somebody who is sympathetic to the plight of children who live and work on the street, and want to give your time and skills to helping improve life for them. You are also somebody who has all the equipment required to deliver this role effectively.
Perhaps you're somebody looking to develop a career in event photography, or perhaps in the charity sector? As such we are happy to help you build your portfolio by providing support such as an employer reference, Linkedin skills endorsement and recommendation, and/or a case study profile on our website that can be linked to.
Other than when you are on-site photographing the event, you are free to work remotely at a location convenient to you - all of our team works remotely from home or coffee shops. You may also choose the hours you work although you will need to liaise with the Event Lead to ensure core event activities are photographed.
We provide you with any guidance you need to get started, and logistical support once you're up and running. We can also arrange for any training you may need, if relevant.
To apply for this role, please click the 'apply now' button, and complete the online application form making sure you've uploaded your CV. Explain in the application form why you are applying for the role, why you think you can deliver it well, and how you would go about doing so.
You can expect to hear from us within five working days if we have shortlisted you for interview. The interview will be via online video session, and will be your opportunity to build upon what you have already told us in your application.
