Volunteer Fashion Show Coordinator

Poverty Child
16th January 2019
Liverpool, United Kingdom
Job Type

No child should have to experience the cruel realities of living on the street. It is this belief that has driven Poverty Child to tackle child poverty in the developing world since 2013, specifically in countries that have witnessed rapid expansion in urban slums, such as in the Philippines, Indonesia, and India.

Our vision is to realise a world where no child finds themselves in poverty or needs protection from it. It is the charity's goal to positively impact the lives of 1 million children over the next 10 years so that they are not tied to the life they were born into, but instead have the opportunity to create a better future for themselves. To help us achieve this goal we are in need of a Fashion Show Coordinator to join the team on a voluntary basis.

You will be responsible for organising a charity fashion show to raise funds that will support our work. You can expect to have to perform tasks such as sourcing the venue, promoting the event in local press and media, and selling tickets, amongst others. We will provide further details at interview.

You are somebody who is sympathetic to the plight of children who live and work on the street, and want to give your time and skills to helping improve life for them. You're also somebody who has the capacity to take on a demanding role like this.

Perhaps you're somebody looking to develop a career in fashion or as an events coordinator in the charity sector? As such we are happy to help you build your portfolio by providing support such as an employer reference, Linkedin skills endorsement and recommendation, and/or a case study profile on our website that can be linked through to.

You are free to work remotely at a location convenient to you - all of our team works remotely from home or coffee shops. Plus, you choose the amount of hours you want to work every week, as well as the length of commitment to this role.

We provide you with any guidance you need to get started, and logistical support once you're up and running. We can also arrange for any training you may need, if relevant.

To apply for this role, please click the 'apply now' button, and complete the online application form making sure you've uploaded your CV. Explain in the application form why you are applying for the role, why you think you can deliver it well, and how you would go about doing so.

You can expect to hear from us within five working days if we have shortlisted you for interview. The interview will be via Skype, and will be your opportunity to build upon what you have already told us in your application.
